Coordination of benefits notice

If you are a UW–Madison employee who subscribes to a High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP), please review your Health Savings Account (HSA) enrollment terms and conditions. You are encouraged to review your HSA Internal Revenue Service requirements and how CISI Insurance (international travel accident, sickness, and security assistance insurance) may impact this coverage. If you have questions about your eligibility to be enrolled in both plans at the same time, please seek assistance from a tax advisor. If you determine you are no longer eligible for HDHP, please contact OHR’s Madison Benefit Services.

Mandated by the Board of Regents, all University of Wisconsin students traveling abroad (i.e., outside of the United States and its territories) for purpose of participating in academic or educational program activities associated with a UW sponsored program must enroll in CISI International Travel Accident, Sickness and Security Insurance. (See UWSA Policy 145)

If you attempt to enroll a trip departing on or after 1 July 2025 before the CISI renewal is completed, you will receive the following error message: “Matching Policy Not Found”.

Your patience with this inconvenience is appreciated. When the renewal of UW’s CISI insurance program is completed, enrollments in the coverage for trips departing on or after 1 July 2025 will be able to proceed as instructed in the enrollment option(s) provided below. Thank you.
