Focus Blue Cards

The Focus Blue card, a prepaid debit card issued by U.S. Bank and administered by UW–Madison’s Travel and Card Team, is used when other payment mechanisms are impractical or unavailable.

Note: Focus Blue cards are also distributed to research subjects via the Custodian Funds process; see the Reloadable Debit Card Accounts webpage for more information.

Focus Blue cards may be offered when other payment mechanisms are not practical or allowable (e.g., recipient does not have a bank account to deposit checks or access cash).

Funds are loaded onto a Focus Blue card, which is provided or mailed to the recipient, and can be used everywhere Visa debit cards are accepted. Focus Blue cards must be activated upon receipt using the U.S. Bank Focus website.
