The transition of individual travel services to Fox World Travel is live as of July 1, 2024. Any upcoming, previously booked reservations with Travel Incorporated were moved to Fox World Travel. All new reservations should be booked with Fox World Travel or in Concur.

Student Information System (SIS) Account Freeze
The Bursar’s Office is working on transitioning the accounting method in SIS from Cash to Accrual; this upgrade will require a freeze of processes that result in changes to the Student Financial Accounts. Student Accounts will be frozen end of day June 28 through July 5, 2024.
Updates on travel agency transition to Fox World Travel
On July 1, 2024, UW System Administration’s required contracted vendor for individual travel, Travel Incorporated, will be replaced by Fox World Travel. Divisional travel coordinators must complete several time-sensitive tasks to prepare for the transition.

Travel Policy Updates – Fall 2023
Various elements of UW–Madison travel policies and web content needed changing to match UW System policy and other important changes (i.e., vehicle contract changes). Noted changes are effective immediately.
Capital Equipment online Q&A sessions available starting October 2023
Question and answer sessions will review a specific Capital Equipment topic and provide an open forum for people to ask questions they might have. These optional sessions are open to all persons interested in understanding the Capital Equipment Policies and Procedures, including Department Property Administrators (DPAs), Primary Investigators, and Financial Specialists.
New Department Property Administrator training available in Canvas
As of fall 2023, a new self-paced Department Property Administrator (DPA) training course is available in Canvas. Registration is available through the OHRD website.
Travel and Expense Reimbursement Updates – July 2023
Several travel and expense policy changes went into effect July 1, 2023. The modified policies include Air Travel, Vehicle Use/Rental, and Official Functions and Expenses. Additionally, new student lodging account codes and expense type are now in production.

This is an update notice about events impacting the helium industry and causing supply constraints. While the UW–Madison supply level will continue to be met (or nearly met), pricing will be impacted.
Updating Wisconsin Certificate of Exemption Status (CES) Number
As of July 1, 2022, new 15-digit CES numbers are required when making purchases exempt from Wisconsin sales and use tax. If the new CES is not received prior to any purchase, sales and use tax will be withheld.
